A large and colorful Cubist-inspired owl pendant necklace from the 1970s-1980s by Eisenberg.
This owl is enameled in shades of red, cream,greenish grays and black with the colors delineated by silvertone trim. The large eyes are greenish gray with black pupil in the center. Its feathers are various colors, splashed across the body in waves. Its tail feathers are greenish gray, slate gray and red.
The owl has silvertone talons, wrapped around a silvertone branch.
This pendant necklace is part of the Eisenberg company's "Artist Series", a collection of vividly-enameled pieces that drew inspiration from art masters like Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh.
The owl is large, at 3 1/4" tall and 1 7/8" wide. It hangs from a thick silvertone chain measuring 21" long and 3/8" wide; with a spring ring clasp.
Owl is marked "E" (for Eisenberg) plus the copyright symbol. In very good condition, with vivid enameling that has a few crazing crackle lines visible with jewelrs loupe, and good silvertone finish with some light scuffs.
